Up- date on the FOI from our friends over at www.thestory.ie
Access Info Europe and the Centre For Law and Democracy have called on the Irish government to abolish FOI fees entirely. In an open letter written to Public Expenditure and Reform Minister Brendan Howlin, Helen Darbishire from Access Info and Toby Mendel from the Centre for Law and Demcoracy wrote:
Various arguments have been put forward to justify charging up-front fees simply for making requests, none of which can be justified by reference to either international standards or comparative law and practice. Charging up-front fees for information requests violates international standards. It is clearly unacceptable to charge people to exercise a fundamental right. This is reflected in the Council of Europe Convention on Access to Official Documents, which expressly prohibits up-front charges for requests (Article 7(1)). Indeed, the drafters of that Convention considered and specifically rejected a request from Ireland to allow for such charges.

This is a very welcome developement at last some Irish citizens are beginning to take action but we need all of our citizens to unite and take on these gangsters who are still helping our puppet government to destroy our fundamental rights as an independent state within the Union of so-called independent states and nations of Europe. We have ended up as financial servicing slaves of the larger powers in Europe and our culture and independence has been stolen from us .We are been forced into a type of Mc Donald new world order type of society where everything and everybody is a candidate of throw away when finished with! People are not commodities born to help sustain the millionaire lifestyles of the élite ,who by the way are only élite because we allow them to be so !
We need to face down the Banks and their cheerleaders in the Dail .We the people are the source of their power over us we just have to stand up and say no more we want our country ,our culture and our freedom back and we will fight if necessary if forced to do so!
we the people must unite and fight for our own future as our politicians are nothing more than mouthpieces for the political system that has made millionaires out of most of them and a system that has allowed the banks to become our unelected masters in my lifetime.Down with the banker dictatorship!
