Its time this Gravy train was stopped in its tracks, write to you local TD and demand that the practice of collecting pensions whilst still in receipt of a Dail salary be stopped immediately

Furthermore all pensions should not be more that the national average citizens’ pension

TD’s should not be financially better off as a result of payments from the taxpayers of this country, the people they are supposed to be serving

It’s time to get real and let these leaches know that the party is over, and they better get use to the idea!

we need reform now!

The current Irish Government are responsible for the financial disaster the country is in,
With the establishment of NAMA the Government is trying to socialize the enormous losses that the Banks and their Developer buddies have encored.
Corruption is rife and now a new monster burocratic system is being created, where X politicians will have jobs for life and the same corrupt developers will be able to manipulate the housing market all over again
While the people are being robbed of their homes, savings, pensions, and education for their children, that same gangsters are running the country
This has to stop!
Join the CAB to-day and get things moving
Come on! Get active in your own area now!
We as a country need new faces and not the same old tired faces that have being around using the system to suite themselves.

X TD’s car-park Perks

Just in case you missed this

George lee was photographed yesterday getting into his car at the Leister House car park

Question is this car park space subject to the new car-park tax of 200 per year?

Did you know that X  TD’s are entitled to park their cars at the said car park for Life even when they are no longer TD’S?

George clearly is keeping this perk!

Irish Live Register

Irish Live Register: Rises 3,300 to 426,700 in December; 133,577 added in 2009; Unemployment rate still set to peak in summer 2010

Irish Live Register: The seasonally adjusted Live Register total increased from 423,400 in November to 426,700 in December, an increase of 3,300, according to the CSO.  In 2009 there was an unadjusted increase in the Live Register of 133,577(+46.1%). This compares with an increase of 119,642 (+70.2%) in 2008. The unemployment rate still set to peak in summer 2010.

January of this year has represented the spike in claimant increases in any month, with a record 33,000, or 11.3%, rise – – 26,700 additions in February, 20,000 in March; 15,800 in April; 13,500 in May; 11,400 in June; 10,500 in July; 5,400 in August and 600 in September.

The total fell 3,000 in October. and rose 900 in November.

There was an annual increase of 88,273 (+45.4%) in the number of males on the Live Register in 2009 and a corresponding increase of 45,304 (+47.5%) in the number of females.

I have being unemployed since January last year 2009

I was told at the Dole office as I was self-employed for the past few years I was not entitled to any state benefits, no Jobseekers allowance, and I did not need to register every week.

so go and don’t bother us again attitude !

Since I do not qualify for the jobseekers allowance, it would appear that I do not show up as unemployed in the CSO stats.

So now extrapolate this fact to the approximately 65, 000 thousand or so other X self-employed people. Who lost their self support means they had.

These would be chippies, electricians, brick layers and people who have lost their own businesses

And you begin to get the real unemployment figures.

Like every other government in the world this government is fiddling the real figures

I would estimate the real unemployment figures are close to 536,000 Thousand.

The greatest scam is that I paid all my taxes and paid into the PRSI, I also paid all taxes for my staff and I end up with no entitlements!

The lesson here is don’t set up yourself in Business in Ireland

Just go out and try to get a job in the public service

There are approximately 360,000 thousand lucky people already looked after for life.

But if you take in the now subsidized financial sector, and the thousands of guanos and advisers

We must be looking at 600.000 thousand plus.

Every time you here someone talking about the good job the government is doing just ask the question who is paying their salaries, inevitably it is the taxpayers!

Nothing is going to change for the Unemployed unless they get out on to the streets and take action themselves

Join the union for the unemployed

Demand jobs now and not empty promises

Sign  up and demand an emergency jobs creation and up-skilling program for the unemployed to-day!

Bertie Ahern’s exemption from Tax

Extract taken from www.thestory.ie

The 2006 capping of the exempt income has – as artists’ lobby group, Visual Artists warned – resulted in some high-earning individuals moving their tax residency abroad. The most infamous case, of course being U2, who moved their tax residency to The Netherlands.

However, a stark majority stayed, obviously, as it’s almost always awkward to uproot.

Bertie Ahern’s claiming of the exemption is notable for two reasons, one perhaps less noteworthy than the other.

Firstly, it illustrates just how little civic responsibility the man feels for the situation the country finds itself in today, something that will surprise few. Ahern is already in receipt of a number of State pensions, these total more than €120,000. He also has use of a State car 24 hours a day, every day, which transports him wherever he wishes to go at no personal cost. On top of this he receives a TD’s salary of more than €100,000. He also earns, or has earned, considerable amounts from private speaking engagements, though it is said business is slow these days for ‘the architect of the Celtic Tiger’. In short, he’s not in search of a few pence to rub together, unlike many PAYE workers and private sector taxpayers as of late. Still, he actively sought the exemption on a book ghost-written by Richard Aldous for which Ahern received more than €400,000 in an advance when he could have left the money in the nation’s coffers. This is where, I argue, it is needed and should be. He did so knowing it would cause controversy and offense.

A well written article indeed well done

However I beg to differ on one small point

I do not believe that anybody having earnings over the average industrial wage should be able to avail of this exemption from income tax , period!

There should be a ban on all public servants from gaining financially from their knowledge of having being a Public servant

Just my humble opinion!

Budget 2010

Remember the joke ‘What’s the difference between Iceland and Ireland? One letter and six months!’ Oh how Insider wishes that had been true.

The Icelanders took no crap from their Government;

They took to the streets and toppled their Government, dumping with it the banks and speculators that had caused the crisis through their greed and free market economics. There was no NAMA in Iceland, no bailing out of the banks and their hangers-on.

Today the icy island is experiencing economic ‘green shoots’ quite unlike Ireland

Where our crooks that led us into this catastrophe are still in place and they have successfully convinced the people to pay their gambling debts

But for how long will the people put up with this con job and take matters into their own hands?

SCAM,SCAM,SCAM!

The Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan, has said the issue of Oireachtas expenses had to be put into perspective.

Mr Lenihan was speaking after the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission, Tom O’Higgins, said his proposals to reform the system governing expenses for TDs and Senators were ignored by the commission.

Mr O’Higgins explained why he resigned in a letter which was disclosed to the Irish Times following a Freedom of Information request.

These guys will have to be brought kicking and screaming from their lucrative expenses rip-off

They have shown yesterday their total contempt of the taxpayers of this country by showing their support for the disgraceful behaviour of the CEANN Comhairle John O’Donoghue

It comes as no surprise to me that Mr.O Donoghue walks away with a  (see Link) lavish payoff

Again curtsey of his pals on the same scam!
