TD’s unite to give themselves a pay rise

in case you missed this

By John Drennan

Sunday November 07 2010

As the country faces economic meltdown, TDs and senators are planning to improve their already plush terms and conditions.

An official estimate of the money required to run the Dail in 2011 ‘sneaked’ through the Dail last Thursday reveals that the recession stops at the gates of Leinster House.

Did you Know?

In a touching scene, deputies across all parties suspended hostilities and agreed to the estimates without a single objection.

The estimates reveal that the cost of a Dail which serves fewer people than the population of cities such as greater Manchester, will in 2011 come to €112,983,000 — which represents a drop of just €1.2m (or 1 per cent) on last year’s spending.

But expenditure on the perks and services enjoyed by our TDs and senators will actually increase in certain areas next year.

The cost of salaries for TDs, senators and secretarial assistants will increase, while salaries of staff like those in catering and behind the Dail bar will decrease.

The estimates for 2011 reveal that there will be an increase in the postal and telecommunications service, which allows TDs and senators to send out promotional literature to their constituents.

The budget for delegates to ‘other parliamentary assemblies‘ has increased by 50 per cent and the ‘grant in aid’ for ‘inter-parliamentary activities’ has also increased by a whopping 40 per cent.

Even this, however, is dwarfed by the increase in the budget for allowances in respect of former members of the houses of the Oireachtas, which has been increased from €49,000 to €149,000.

At a time when pensioners fear losing entitlements such as free travel, the estimates also contain an increase of the ‘grant in aid’ to parliamentary pensioners from from €10,084,000 to €10,562,000, indicating that Dail and Seanad pension recipients will be unique within the country in actually securing an increase next year. The estimates also reveal that there will be a substantial increase in the Budget for televising Dail and Seanad proceedings, which provides TDs and Senators with much-desired coverage.

Though some minimalistic cuts are revealed in the anticipated expenses of TDs and senators, one source noted that “when the increases are taken in the round, TDs and senators will not be losing a penny in salaries and expenses next year”.

Here we have a perfect example of our public representatives sucking us dry  these blood suckers will still have a neck to come calling in the next few months to our doors our homes and tell us how hard things are going to get and they are the people to make the hard choices on our behalf  and we should vote them back into the Dail .

Do not vote in any of the existing TD’s ever again  give them their P45 ASAP

Unemployment and a corrupt politicial system

“Fairness for the small self-employed employers”

All of our problems stem from the same point!
Unemployment ,and the continuing loss of jobs are the government’s biggest failure.
It is well-known that over 80% of the jobs still available come from small business.
These small business are overwhelmed with red tape, taxes, and idiotic restrictions .
The government have done nothing to aid this small business to survive this rescission because none of them know anything about small businesses. The bank bailouts  have soaked up all of the funds the government might otherwise had to support these real supporters of the economy
Instead of helping the current government have done exactly the opposite by raising new stealth taxes and charges at the expense of the small business in favour  of the multi nationals (ESB Charges) (VAT hikes)
In fact not only are they not helping they are actively hurting small businesses with their bank bailout policies by robbing the life blood of credit to these small business .

Every Euro you take from a small business in taxes is a Euro that can’t be paid out in wages.
Instead of kneeling down before the multi nationals get you finger out and stop strangling the guy that gets up every morning and helps other citizens to hold down a job that in turn
Helps him to consume the products of other small business and safeguards local jobs
There will be no support in the property sector if ordinary citizens don’t have confidence in the wider economy or in the people who are supposed to be running the economy and as of now ordinary citizens have lost all confidence in the government’s ability to run the economy .

More worrying the constant televising by the established opposition political parties
About their plans to divide up the various ministries when they get into Government buildings is nothing short of sheer arrogance on their part .

We the citizens do not want business as usual with the existing musical chairs political system
The opposition have not displayed any of the characteristics needed for a radical approach to reversing the disastrous situation the economy is now in, nor have they displayed any real opposition to the governments handling of the crises.
Why?
Because they are themselves career politicians feeding from the same corrupt self-preservation system that they have grown up with all their political lives. Their political parties stamp out every last drop of independent thinking  these TD,s have.

They become addicted to the dictates of the leadership and their sole purpose in life from then on  is to become the leader of the party and so become the leader of their own administration. Citizens problems are soon forgotten and in time their own self-indulgence of their own importance becomes overwhelming .

They are totally reliant on the same civil servants that the current government is reliant on
The same people who will be advising the next batch of public servants whose loyalty is to the current corrupt system .

Remember they are not all fired when a new government is elected into office they stay put !

so they need to be constantly retrained and up skilled to meet the need of a modern economy

We need to get new people into the Dail with a mandate to totally revamp the system by giving back to the citizens the right to fire any servants of the people anytime and not have to wait for 5 years

Under such a system Ivor Callely would be gone a long time ago and without a pension and a lot of his fellow leaches would have joined him
Please support change (promise yourself that) by not voting for any of the current TD, s in the Dail otherwise we only end up with the same incompetence that has destroyed our country
We must break the mould that is sucking us dry

Live Line to-day 11.08.2010

Today we again here from the ordinary people of Ireland as they expressed their anger at the latest Demand from the Banks for more money and the governments total denial of what is obvious to every citizen in the state that the banks are in fact dancing merry go round the incompetent bunch

(listen Here )

the people time after time expressed their complete opposition to the continue bail out of Anglo Irish Bank and their frustration of the lack of leadership coming from the very gangsters that have helped cause this massive financial meltdown within the government
With no credible opposition in the country we the people are charged with the task to bail ourselves out of this mess
The so called opposition have fail us miserably they have allowed Cowen and Lenihan bail out their buddies and have sat in the Dail gravy train and let events happen
With no real difference in their solutions we the people must take upon ourselves to make the changes we so desperately need to make
The current political system it totally corrupt and any attempt to make the necessary changes to the way things are done within that system will only lead to dismal failure
We don’t need more political parties based on the same current political parties because of the strangle hold the current big boys have
It is a kind of mutual assured power and perks system and it bestows a lifelong membership to an élite group of people that shares out plumb jobs and perks with enormous pensions to their lucky members
Just take a look at Allen Dukes he knows no more about running Banks that I do but he is running the most Toxic bankrupt Bank in the world
This political dinosaur is not alone take a look at Allied Irish Bank there we have another dinosaur Sticky Dick Spring
In most of the over bloated state guanos we have a severe infestation problem self serving X politicians who are extracting perks that ordinary citizens would never even dream of
The system is rotten to the core and it has to be completely destroyed in favour a more direct democratic system that takes into account the modern world using technology as its back bone
we need to revamp the constitution in favour of a direct democracy similar to the system used in Switzerland where by the citizens can fire any and all politicians at anytime by way of a local referendum this is a must if we are to have a real democracy
I suspect most politicians will not want the have this change because it will be the end of the career politician and that is a good start !

I call hear and now for the establishment of the second Irish republic

John Drennan of the sunday independant on Calley

No amount of houses, yachts or portraits would ever fill Callely’s desire to be noticed,
writes John Drennan

He may now be more famous than Brian Cowen, but the strangest thing about the summer phenomenon of 2010 is that we know so little about the secret soul of Senator Ivor Callely.
We know Callely is a one-man poster boy for the venal cupidity of a political system, but what was it within Ivor that led to his current desolate state where he is poised to experience the rare ignominy of being expelled from the eternally forgiving Fianna Fail family?
It was a little bubble world in which Callely once could dream of full cabinet ranking and, if the fortune-teller in his childhood was right, maybe even the Presidency.
Sean Haughey may have taken Haughey peer’s seat in Dublin North Central, but, as the old dears squawked approvingly about that “young Ivan (sic) Callely”, Ivor believed he was the constituency boss and the real spiritual heir to Haughey. The dreaded days when a braying posse of supporters would crowd into the Dail bar in a fug of cheap cologne and dear suits are gone, for Ivor is no longer a political thug in a pink shirt knocking at the doors of the Cabinet.
One of the unwritten rules of Irish politics is that if you remain within the sanctuary of the Dail club even if you get into trouble nothing too bad can happen to you. But, if you sin sufficiently to be cast adrift, then you are in a world of trouble.
It is no wonder, therefore, that Ivor is not looking so chipper these days, for even his own are praying that this grotesque drama can quickly be brought to conclusion.
When other black sheep have arrived back to the Dail bar after their travails, they have been greeted with a great throaty roar that could be heard in the corridors.
In contrast, Callely has no one to advocate for him, or to even smile when this political ghost returns to Leinster House.
Some would say that Ivor is where he is now because he is simply stupid.
It certainly takes a special sort of idiot to be sacked as a junior minister, but his tragic flaw is deeper.
It would be excessively cruel to claim Ivor does not have a soul, but he does suffer from the toxic combination of a monstrous ego and a complete lack of emotional intelligence.
The most intriguing feature of the life of Ivor Callely is that there is no record in the secret oral histories that all TDs and senators have about their colleagues of a single act of generosity or kindness.
Though he was a political Rain Man who was only interested in Ivor, Mr Callely had his political role models. Bertie, in one of his incarnations as a municipal socialist, spoke famously about how he never wanted islands or yachts or any of that stuff.
But, while Ivor wanted the lot, there was a critical difference between him and Haughey.
With Haughey the yachts and the rest were trappings, for what really drove the former Taoiseach was a complex series of desires incorporating genuine patriotism and, of course, his own personal aggrandisement.
Ivor, however, had no real reason for being in politics beyond the desire for personal glory.
In that respect, he really was, in political terms, a boy without a soul.
The problem with the monstrous ego which fuelled the career of Callely wasn’t just that no amount of statues, houses, yachts or portraits would ever fill his desire to be noticed. The consequent absence of emotional intelligence meant that when the inevitable great fall arrived he was without a single friend.
We should be careful not to turn Ivor into a mythological figure, for Ivor Callely is a greedy, self-centred fool. Rather like his suits, he was one of the more lurid examples of how Fianna Fail betrayed the principles of the Republic, and itself, out of greed.
Even in the good times, his self-obsession meant that even in this most clubbable of places Ivor was always alone.
But now, at this nadir, Fianna Fail’s new Guy Fawkes is most assuredly on his own. And though he is an unlovely creature it is still a cruel, if deserved, place in which he now finds himself.

Well, what can I an ordinary Joe soap add to this excellent summation of the current mêlées that has befallen Mr.Ivor Callely?
The most obvious omission of course is if you were to ask any person on the street without mentioning Mr.Callely, s name you will most likely hear a different TD, s name or Senators Name !The reason is amply expressed in the above article
Most of the people’s servants are perceived by the general public to be “in it for themselves “they are totally out of touch with the ordinary people on the street
Hold up in their ivory tower that the Dail has become they constantly shuffle for camera time and the babble out of their collective mouths is in stark contrast to their body language. If you don’t believe me just turn off the babble and just look at the pictures
anyone with a bit of life experience will immediately see that these people are just going through the motions and it is also plain to see that they don’t really know what they are talking about.
the Dail membership becomes the soul purpose for these addicts of power, its perks and the association of such power the promises dispensed during the election campaign are long forgotten and the new mantra is all hail to the local Gombeeen whom we are all now destined to come crawling to if we lose our jobs or need to get a bed in the local hospital or have the local river cleaned up
Make no mistake Ivor Callely is a saint when it comes to the real sliveens in the Dail

the system is totally rotten !

New reserve currency

This is big trouble for the USA
WASHINGTON (AP) — Regulators on Friday shut down a Nevada bank, raising to 83 the number of U.S. bank failures this year.
The 83 closures so far this year is more than double the pace set in all of 2009, which was itself a brisk year for shutdowns. By this time last year, regulators had closed 40 banks. The pace has accelerated as banks’ losses mount on loans made for commercial property and development.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. took over Nevada Security Bank, based in Reno, with $480.3 million in assets and $479.8 million in deposits. Umpqua Bank, based in Roseburg, Ore., agreed to assume the assets and deposits of the failed bank.
New reserve currency
We in Ireland are still bailing out bankrupt banks at the cost billions we don’t have causing economic depression for this and the next generation!
With 52 thousand students coming out of our universities and no jobs to go to
alone along with 100,000 people all ready left the country ,and another 53 thousand students leaving secondary education this year
How many of them are going into apprenticeships, jobs or is it emigration for the majority for them
The Unelected Cowen and his band of economic terrorists are helping the top bankers of the state live it up while the rest of us struggle to pay our monthly bills
I say let the bankrupt banks pay their own bills and allow them to fail, just like the Americans are doing in the land of Free markets
Allowing the crooks in the Dail to plunder our natural resources and the wealth of future generations is a crime I personally do not want to be responsible for, when our children ask what you did to prevent it I can show I was active in my opposition and I made a stand
What can you say you did??
It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to oppose this band of thieves we must stand up and take action
Do not just stand by and allow our country to be destroyed by the current government who have sold out to the faceless bondholders in Germany , France and England
Stand up and Fight back now!
Put yourself up for election do not give you vote to any of the current TD’s
We need new blood in the Dail and not Family dynasties
We want a general election now and we need a new community party made up of new local people from ordinary backgrounds that will work for an average wage and not clock up huge self given perks, ending up as millionaires while the rest of us struggle to pay for these perks & pensions
We need real servants of the people and not leach’s sucking the rest of us dry like some of the current shower of TD’s are doing
The next general election must end Gombeenisem for good.
Promise yourself this and we just might save Ireland!

Wicklow Times gives us a mention

We recently crossed over the 36,000 visitors mark and for the first time we also got a mention in the local paper the Wicklow Times click here Document (9)

They picked up on my article on the Local TD’s expenses.

Last Year we had a Darby and here is the link http://thepressnet.com/2009/09/01/wicklow-td%e2%80%99s-are-big-spenders/

My thanks to all who drop by on a Daly basis , contribute and encourage me .Independent news and opinions  are a vital ingredient of Democracy ,and we must guard these fundamental rights we all have .

We also have the right to call to account those that are put in places of power be it local or national

remember we the people are the paymasters and they are supposed to be working for US the general public .We must get used to asking the real questions .for example Wicklow Town has now approx 2000 unemployed ,so what have the Local elected TD’s done to get even one person a job

What new funds or what job creation measures have been provided in the last 17 months

I can answer you NONE!

Don’t promise you votes to someone just because there a nice Man/Woman

We need new faces and new ideas; nothing will change if the same old policies are kept

We need Action on Jobs and not hot air and empty promises

Billions have been squandered in toxic Banks (NAMA)

Jobs have been created for top managers, accountants and solicitors (people in the right circles)

The rest of us are dumped and forgotten!

Stand up and fight back!

Demand up-skilling ,re-education and universal health care for all

 Demand answers and accountability!

But Bernard is not the only one of the Dail Poor in receipt of a nifty addition to his Dail salary

Speaking yesterday, Mr Lenihan said that it was open to anyone to make a contribution from their pension to the Minster for Finance.

“Many can reflect on the difficulty economic circumstances Ireland is in and decide to assist voluntarily,” he said.

Furthermore all pensions should not be more that the national average citizens’ pension

TD’s should not be financially better off as a result of payments from the taxpayers of this country, the people they are supposed to be serving

It’s time to get real and let these leaches know that the party is over, and they better get use to the idea!
