Green’s still supporting the Fianna Fail mantra

The Green Party has pledged to pursue a major reform agenda over the next Dáil term in a bid to ensure there is no reoccurrence of the banking crisis.

Speaking after the party’s think-in in Co Carlow, party leader John Gormley said “restoring financial stability and reforming the banks and the planning system were a priority”.

“We must learn from the lessons of the past and make sure that the problems we are now facing, never happen again,” he said, adding that the party wanted to restore the public’s faith in politics and State institutions.

He said measures have already been taken to stabilise the banking system and the planning process was being overhauled.

The party also said it wanted to see the introduction of a ban of corporate donations and a directly-elected mayor for Dublin.

He said reform of local government and the establishment of a new electoral commission “will see the biggest shake-up in Irish politics in decades”.

Other priorities include the introduction of the Climate Change Bill and measures to improve people’s quality of life, such as a Bill on noise.

Well there you have it, the greens solution to all our countries problems

Keep dumping billions into bankrupt banks and bail out wealthy developers and keep Fianna Fail in power as long as possible.

Overhaul the planning process, with little or no building going on that should not be a problem!

500,000 citizens will be delighted that your top priorities are for a climate change bill

(Whatever that is) and making criminals out of noisy neighbours.

Sorry no jobs stimulus package, no re-training program, no new measures for mature students to get back into education, in fact absolute nothing, not even the word  job” is in the  party’s think-in, in Co Carlow.

But wait they might want to have the nations butterfly population counted, now that would keep some of the unemployed busy!

These power addicts will not get the time of day when they go knocking on peoples doors here in Wicklow .They have shown their true colours by adopting  the culture of Fianna Fail spin and cronyism and consequently  they have dumped their core values shame on them!

They have helped to rune this country by agreeing to Fianna Fail’s demand to set up NAMA.

They have helped to pour billions into the toxic Anglo Irish bank and colluded with Fianna Fail to deprived citizens of their right to political representation by holding off on local elections.

There are not the same greens that presented themselves to the Irish public.

They did not tell the voters that they would sell out to Fianna Fail if offered merks and perks and ministerial positions

They can make all the promises they like now, no one will ever trust this green shower ever again!

“Green” light for more Tax hikes ?

A Web posting by Ciaran Cuffe advocating new levy is removed after ‘consultation’ with party

 Shane Coleman and Martin Frawley

A BLOG by Green Party minister Ciaran Cuffe advocating the introduction of a property tax in direct contravention of party policy and the programme for government was removed from the web this weekend.

The planning minister proposed that instead of raising income tax, the government should abolish stamp duty and introduce a property levy. It would mean that houses under 100 square metres (1,076sq ft) could be charged €200, with those over 200sq m (2,153sq ft) paying €600 and a middle rate of €400.

“I’d say such a charge could raise the guts of several hundred million, and would be more equitable than a rise in income tax. The beauty of such a scheme is that it could be implemented quickly without a cumbersome state-led assessment of each property. Another advantage would be that it would allow people to move home when they wish without an excessive tax burden,” he said in his entry to his ‘Cuffe Street’ blog.

I have been saying to expect to get a hefty bill in the form of a property tax after the next budget but Boy, have we been badly stitched up by the greens, here we have another new minster from the greens coming up with their latest bright idea after counting frogs, and bats and stealth taxes call carbon taxes, car taxes ,and 15 cent on every litre of petrol and I am sure there is more to come

This guy comes up with this new tax .Well he can take a running jump we are getting a sneak preview of what these green addicts of power are prepared to do to stay in power serving their masters Fianna Fail they have completely destroyed any hope of the greens ever getting back into power that’s for sure

How a group of people could totally ditch their principals for the sake of staying in power is beyond me !

For the last 15 years a river flowing down through the town of Wicklow is been polluted By a 24 “drain pipe and raw sewage is pumping out of this pipe on a regular bases Some local developer took some short cuts and the local council don’t want to know!

In spite of writing to the local council over the last 15 years and to minster Gormley ,We the residents still suffer the consequences of this pollution

So much for the green party, s protection of the environment I suppose there are only active when the TV cameras are rolling and they can get some Air Time .

We demand action be taken to stop this pollution and the perpetrators be made clean up their mess

Gardai may probe Callely expenses

(UKPA) – 2 hours ago

A Green Party TD has lodged an official complaint with the gardai about the expenses claims of controversial Senator Ivor Callely.

Paul Gogarty, who has written to the Seanad complaining about the politician’s alleged conduct, went to Dublin’s Lucan Garda Station asking for an investigation to be carried out.

Fianna Fail suspended Senator Callely from the party on Tuesday as it launched its own probe into his expenses after fresh allegations that he had used forged documents to claim from the Oireachtas.

This latest grandstanding by this foul-mouthed TD is laughable

If he really has an ounce of credibility he should report the con artistes in the Cabinet to the fraud squad and the CAB should be called in

These crooks have robbed the Irish taxpayers of billions of euro to bail our corrupt Banks and dodgier Developers and are still allowing the same corrupt banks to charge 300% and more on mortgage interest payments to their hard pressed and bewildered customers

This TD (Paul Gogarty) has sold out every core value he had in order to hold on to power and the perks he now enjoys at the expense of the betrayed taxpayers of this country.

In my eyes he is no better that Callely and the rest of the cronies and leaches that populate the senate and the Dail chamber

I call on all TD, s to publish in their entirety all the expanses and recipes so the general public can see for themselves who is calming for what

This should be done on the internet and Kildarestreet .com would be an excellent platform for the Ladies and Gents who  proclaim to be public servants .

Please send your TD,s  an  e-mail calling for them to publish their entire expenses now on the web

Closure of libraries in two schools in Co. Wicklow

Labour TD Liz McManus,

has warned of the serious affects that the closure of libraries in two schools in Co. Wicklow may have.

The two schools that are under threat of having their libraries closed down by the Government are St. Kilian’s Community College in Bray and the Abbey Community College in Wicklow Town.

“I am deeply shocked at the news that the libraries in these two schools

will have to close because of the moratorium on recruiting librarians”,

said Deputy Liz McManus. “The Demonstration Library Projects were set up

in 22 schools around the country to ensure that young people are able to

read and to encourage a love of reading. They provide students with a

welcoming and safe environment where they can read, do homework, or prepare

for exams.

“An estimated €9m was spent on building and stocking these libraries and I

understand that €1m would keep the service going. This is a modest amount

of money for a significant return. These libraries operate in schools that

are located in disadvantaged areas and are specifically aimed at students

who are the most likely to leave school without formal education.

“The school library service has been tried and trust and has delivered for

many young people. Now it is being destroyed by this Fianna Fail

Government who are hell bent in creating economic havoc. They expect us to

shore up the banks while at the same time they are undermining the

potential of our young students attending 2nd-level schools.

“I am calling on Dick Roche as the only Government Minister in Co. Wicklow

to condemn this measure. It is quite clear that where there is strong

opposition in Fianna Fail that they are able to alter Government policy.

While Fianna Fail Deputies are arguing about stag hunting, there isn’t a

whimper about the loss of library services. It is time to stand up and be

counted. Pulling the plug at this stage is tantamount to educational

vandalism”, concluded Deputy McManus.
