Vatican intransigence

VATICAN OBSERVERS
last night speculated that Pope Benedict’s decision not to accept the resignations of Dublin auxiliary bishops Eamonn Walsh and Ray Field is an indication of a Holy See “Maginot Line” on the question of episcopal resignations in light of the clerical sex abuse scandals.
For months now, Vatican commentators have argued that the delay in accepting resignations originally tendered last Christmas indicated a reluctance to see more heads roll.
This reluctance is at least twofold. First, there is nothing the Holy See would like less than to be seen to be dismissing bishops, solely in response to pressure from the media and public opinion. Secondly, senior Vatican figures are concerned about a possible “domino effect” for the Irish hierarchy. In other words, there may still be many Irish bishops with “mishandling/bureaucratic”, sex abuse skeletons still in the cupboard who would also have to resign.
To a certain extent, say observers, the Vatican has opted to differentiate between sins of omission and sins of commission in relation to the clerical sex abuse scandal.

Comment
I believe the pope is worried that a precedent would be set by the faithful having a say in who is to be a bishop and even maybe have a say in other areas of the church
This is unpalatable for an organization that has deemed itself un…answerable to anyone on earth
The church is in fact a business and the shareholders (us) are only paid a dividend after we die (so were promised )
What a fantastic scam and the envy of all other business on the planet
This latest development is yet another slap across the face of victims who are told in no uncertain terms where their place is in the pecking order of the Vatican’s concerns, namely at the bottom!

Highlights the conundrum the Germans now find themselves in!

As the paymasters of Europe, they are not happy in this unforeseen roll and the opposition in Germany is growing as we see with the loss of North Rhine-Westphalia see article here

In last week’s elections in Germany, by the ruling party of Angela Merkel.

Where this leaves the Euro is another question, I think too much has been invested in the Euro enterprise, so much so that I don’t expect to see the Germans just ditch it anytime soon!

The latest support package for the beleaguered Euro is testimony to the fight the Germanys are still prepared to put up, to save their investment in the single currency.

But what have the Europeans really agreed to?

From here it looks like a giant NAMA solution! Yes we have arrived at the unthinkable, a NAMA for Europe .this of course is just as bad if not even worse that our own Irish NAMA ,but with much worse consequences. All over the air waves to-day we hear that the Euro has been saved and the markets initial reaction is positive but the markets are prone to swing at a moment’s notice and I would not put faith in any initial reaction.

Where are all these billions going to come from and what is the Irish government’s contribution going to be now ,from my estimates we could be asked to stump up 5,000.000.000 billion. (Under the loan package, euro-area governments pledged 440 billion euros in loans or guarantees, with 60 billion euros more in loans from the EU’s budget and as much as 250 billion euros from the International Monetary Fund.)

Where are we going to get this kind of money? Am I the only party pooper?

Surely spending this sort of money replicates the reckless actions that got us here in the first place!

Someone somewhere is going to ask the question what are we going to have to do the get this money? Give up more sovereignty, in the form of a new Lisbon 3 referendum.

Either way this is not good news and this will dawn on the people of Europe in the coming months!

Just think if NAMA is bad for Ireland ,then Euro NAMA cannot be good for Europe !

Unless the Germans start to experience real pain, and their economy starts to go into depression ,and they then come on to the streets, I expect that things will die down and we will see perhaps new attention been brought on to the dollar again! Why? Because the Americans are much further down the road with their printing presses, and the American Jumbo Debt comes to focus on the world stage again!

The thing about debt is that it has to be faced up to at some stage !

Response to Pope’s pastoral letter

Response to Pope’s pastoral letter

In the pope’s pastoral letter he says

“I urge you to examine your conscience, take responsibility for the sins you have committed, and humbly express your sorrow. Sincere repentance opens the door to God’s forgiveness and the grace of true amendment. By offering prayers and penances for those you have wronged, you should seek to atone personally for your actions. Christ’s redeeming sacrifice has the power to forgive even the gravest of sins, and to bring forth good from even the most terrible evil. At the same time, God’s justice summons us to give an account of our actions and to conceal nothing. Openly acknowledge your guilt, submit yourselves to the demands of justice, but do not despair of God’s mercy”.

This letter is a first step in the long road of renewal for the church

But the pace of this renewal is too slow, with modern methods of transmitting news, the Church is just not making the necessary changes soon enough and events will overtake it if it does not move faster.

I see nothing new that convinces me that I should allow my Daughter to be confirmed into the current institution of the church

I read a lot about what has happened but little about what changes are been made

And nothing about accountability!

I suggest that Cardinal Brady take the “obvious step” and do so now along with the rest of the Bishops that have been implicated in the abuse scandals.

“It cannot be denied that some of you and your predecessors failed, at times grievously, to apply the long-established norms of canon law to the crime of child abuse. Serious mistakes were made in responding to allegations”

“Nevertheless, it must be admitted that grave errors of judgment were made and failures of leadership occurred. All this has seriously undermined your credibility and effectiveness”

Through their failure to act, they allowed many children to be raped and be sexually abused by the pedophile priest Fr. Brendan Smith and others like him!

For anybody else in the Irish state this would be a criminal act and punishable under the criminal justice system within the State

The pope himself is also compromised as he was the Bishop in charge in his own country that turned a blind eye to abuse on boys

He too must step aside.

Only through a total revamp of the church structure can it hope to be able to enjoy the support of the people.

It is now time for the ordinary people of the church (who are the church) to decide who should become the pope and not the nominated Cardinals of pervious popes.

The time is right for to people to take back our church and decide what its future should be!

Brady “No Accountability”

Brady insists he will not resign over Smyth case
Just like the corrupt politicians this shows that the top clergy are as far removed from the victims as they ever were

There is no sense of accountability only empty platitudes and well rehearsed speeches.

Bishop’s appeal for financial aid

Every one of these pampas pi** will roast in hell before I would put my hand in my pocket to help them stay in their palaces

What cheek they should be in jail and put on the sex registry of the state.

This call again shows that jackass are out of touch with the real world why did they not ask the Pope in Rome when they were there or better still why did they not just stay there they wouldn’t be missed here.
