Detroiters stand in solidarity with the people of Ireland against water charges and the privatization of our public water systems.
We are not strangers ourselves to the escalating attacks on the poorest members of society collectively known as “austerity”. We pledge with our voices and our bodies to resist these cruel policies that leave families, children and elderly without access to clean water, affordable housing, food and other vital necessities.
We will march with you on November 1st through the streets of Downtown Detroit, demanding once again in a clear, united voice an END to the water shutoffs and an income-based Water Affordability Plan for all!
Dublin says No to water taxes for a third time and the austerity forced on the people of Ireland!
